It can be scary to swipe a cotton pad across your face at the end of the day and see how much junk comes off, especially living in a big city like LA. That’s why I started getting facials once I moved here. However, I’ve been hard-pressed to find a good reliable place without breaking the bank but I hit the jackpot!
I found Face Facial Bar on my go-to search app: YELP. I used to go to an aesthetician in Sherman Oaks but her prices were little too steep for me and I hadn’t had any other facial at any other place since I moved here. With this being said, it was time to switch things up.
Face Facial Bar
Located on Hollywood Blvd and Vermont Avenue in the trendy neighborhood of Silverlake, Facial Face bar offers a delightful experience that will make your facials easy, hustle-free and most importantly, AFFORDABLE. The flat rate for the facial is $55, which beats most of LA’s average salons and spas.
Update 2021: When I wrote this post in 2017, the price was $55. As of today, the price is $75.
The environment is clean and charming with a touch of whimsy. It’s decorated with cutesy plush toys and LED lights that make you feel super welcome and homey. However, I have to admit as my first facial out of my usual place, I was a little bit intimidated by the open space with all the spa beds one next to the other, but this is not an issue as the place is very quiet and the customers that walk in are very polite and courteous.
The facial is 50 minutes long and they use products customized to your skin depending on your skin type. The facial includes microdermabrasion, Ultrasound, LED light therapy, organic peel, and a free hand massage. All the products are organic, free of animal testing, sulfates and parabens.
Throughout the facial, the aesthetician talks you through the process asking you about your current skin care routine and gives you advice on how to improve it. Facial face bar is proof that you don’t need to spend outrageous money in luxury facials to look good and take care of your skin. I also loved the relaxing indie music playing in the background.
Since I just updated my current skincare routine (I will make a future post for this one), I didn’t want to commit and pay the full price so I got a few samples. I will probably end up purchasing the moisturizer on my next visit since I have dry skin and have yet to find a moisturizer to use in the morning in conjunction with my Glossier sunscreen.
They have two locations, one in the Silverlake/Los Feliz area, which is the one I went to, and one in Downtown!
