Happy New Year!
One of my New Year’s resolutions is to keep discovering every nook and cranny of LA. What a better way to kick off the year with another great find? Here is the chandelier tree!
The name is pretty self-explanatory. “It’s a chandelier tree,” you might be thinking, “what’s so special about that?” Until you go there and see all the different types of chandeliers lit up in person, you may not be able to grasp what I’m about to share with you.
I went right after sunset. The chandeliers were off, but I took a few pictures with the flashlight on to prove I was there, and just as I was about to leave, the owner, Adam, turned on the lights. Maybe he saw me through the footage security video? Thank you!
Rustic, enchanting and whimsical are the words that describe this one-of-a-kind tree nestled in the hipster neighborhood of Silver Lake. I felt like I was in a fairy tale or a romantic Hallmark movie. I’m a huge fan of lights. By bringing warmth and gentle ambiance, good lighting can turn a dungeon into the coziest of the places. Seeing this tree was like love at first sight. I parked right across from the tree, which allowed me to admire every inch from my car. The chandeliers are all different and you can only appreciate them fully if you stand under the tree. They’re so beautiful!
The owner, Adam Tenenbaum, was sitting outside on his porch. He has no idea how lucky he is. His garden is seriously goals. Can you imagine how perfect the summer nights must be there?
There’s also a beautifully painted meter outside for donations. Sadly, I didn’t have any cash with me when I went, but I will most definitely insert a few quarters on my next visit. Coming from someone who grew up with a chandelier in a house, I know how much work comes into play to maintain each of these light fixtures. Let alone sixteen of them, and outdoors! Thank you Adam for creating this magical visual spectacle in Silver Lake and for your tremendous effort in keeping it for visitors to enjoy.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. I took off after 30 minutes of enjoying this unique tree, which has become my new favorite hidden gem in LA.

All in all, make sure you take the time to walk around and appreciate the tree in all its glory. There’s plenty of street parking—it is located on a wide street and there are a lot of cars passing by non-stop. With that said, look both sides before you cross the street to take a photo from the road, especially during night time!
The address is 2811 W Silverlake Dr Los Angeles, CA 90039.
Have you been to the Chandelier Tree? If you have, what are your thoughts on it? I had a delightful time there and can’t wait to go back!
