There are so many coffee shops in LA that it was impossible for me to compile all of them in the first post. So, this is a continuation of my first post “A Guide To The Best Coffee Shops In Los Angeles, Including Black-Owned Businesses.” I will continue to update the list with coffee shops that have made a lasting impression on me.
Jurassic Magic
1865 S Mansfield Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90019
Jurassic Magic is one of the most beautiful coffee shops I’ve ever been to! Thank you to my friend Kimberly for recommending it. This artsy coffee shop is located on Mansfield Avenue, off of Washington Blvd. Once you make a right turn onto Mansfield from Washington, you’ll be met by striking panoramic views of the hills and the Hollywood sign. The coffee shop is surrounded by greenery. I love the combination of the green from the plants and the red and white patio umbrellas.
The interior is filled with beautiful artwork. I thought it ended there, but there’s more to the space! Further down, there’s a bookshelf that leads to a mirrored corridor, and once you walk past it, more greenery awaits you!
In this area, there’s a nice patio for people to enjoy their coffee in a more intimate setting than the storefront area. The tilework is so cool! The patio, besides the amazing plant life, also doubles as a ceramic shop!
Canyon Coffee
1559 Echo Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026
This coffee shop is hipster galore! Canyon Coffee has been a mainstay in the LA coffee roastery scene for years. Many coffee shops in LA have used their coffee beans. In November 2022, Canyon Coffee opened their brick-and-mortar in Echo Park.
My go-to order there is the matcha green latte which comes with pistachio milk. This is something that not many places in LA have. And if you want something to nibble on, the almond butter toast is a must-have! The bread was incredible.
If you’re planning on going there on the weekend, keep in mind that it’s very busy and seating might be tight. I was able to snag a chair at the counter, where I had my matcha and my toast while people-watching. It was like watching a fashion show! Everyone looked so stylish. If you’re going to have a hot drink there, make sure you let the employee know that you want your drink in one of their cool coffee mugs! 🙂
Community Goods
710 N Edinburgh Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046
This coffee shop opened mid-February and has already garnered a huge celebrity following. Some of them include Hailey and Justin Bieber, and Iris Law. I cannot find information about the founder, but based on the comments from the first picture @thecommunitygoods uploaded, he’s somewhat famous, hence the celebrity following.
The interior is very no-frills and their pastry menu is very limited. The seating consists of a long wooden bench and small stools! Besides coffee, you will also find pantry items and vinyl records. Seeing the picture below, you’d think everyone is sitting at the front row of a fashion show!
Bravo Toast
632 1/2 N Doheny Dr, West Hollywood, CA 90069
The best matcha latte in West Hollywood! In 2020, Bravo Toast opened as a pop-up in Montauk, next to the Hamptons. At the end of 2021, they announced they would be opening their first brick-and-mortar in West Hollywood. Bravo Toast is located on the beautiful palm-tree lined street, Doheny Avenue. The owners’ mission was to bring a piece of the Hamptons to LA and they did such a great job, because I could definitely feel the East Coast vibes when I walked into the space. The touches of dark green reminded me of the luscious green gardens and overcast skies that you can find in this area of New York.
Bravo Toast is known for its amazing array of toasts.
However, don’t overlook their salads! The last time I went there, a girl was having their BH salad, which looked absolutely delicious. But if you just go there for a drink, the iced matcha is a must-order!
Rykn Cafe
710 S Santa Fe Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90021
Stunning! The style of Rykn is very minimalist and zen — a peaceful oasis in DTLA! The cash register is in a beautiful black monolith desk. If this isn’t enough, there’s a beautiful patio for you to enjoy your drink! I think I sat there for almost 2 hours Facetiming my family enjoying the sun on a fall Sunday. Highly recommended!
SACHI.LA
4574 S Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90066
Sachis is a very fun, vibrant and charming coffee shop in West LA. Upon walking in, I could see the Japanese influences. The plants added a lot of life to the space, making it even more aesthetically pleasing. The coffee shop is adjacent to another area where they sell records and vintage clothes. Sachis also has products for sale like coffee equipment, artisanal ceramics and plant pots. The outdoor seating area was perfect to bask in some sun after the cloudy and cold days we’ve had in LA! In addition to this, they have an indoor patio.
goodboybob Coffee Roasters
Culver City, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach
I went to goodboybob’s location at the Public Citizen market in Culver City. Here, the coffee shop is in an open space adjacent to more eateries, so it’s not as intimate as their two other locations. Nonetheless, I absolutely loved my iced matcha latte with almond milk. In their matchas, they add a tiny teaspoon of spiced cinnamon! It was so delicious. If you want something to munch on, Breakfast Sando is their best-seller! The girl at the register told me that they get their fresh pastries every day from their kitchen in Redondo Beach.
