Taylor Swift has been breaking records with the Eras Tour, a tour that takes you on Swift’s 17-year musical journey and delivers 44 songs in 3 hours. Not only has it broken attendance records, but it’s projected to become the highest-grossing tour of all time. Ticketmaster couldn’t keep up with the massive demand, which led to crashes and website outages. In August 2023, Taylor performed six sold-out shows at the Los Angeles SoFi stadium. That’s over 70k people each night! According to news outlets, the Eras Tour brought $320 million to the economy of Los Angeles.
In July 2023, CNBC reported that the Eras Tour is set to earn $1 billion in sales, making it the most lucrative tour in the history of music. With her famous re-recordings, she even beat The Beatles on the Billboard charts as the artist with most albums on the Billboard chart. Needless to say, it’s Taylor’s world and we’re just living in it.
The viral presence of the Eras Tour is inescapable on social media. On Youtube, Instagram and Tik Tok, fans are sharing snippets of the concerts, Taylor’s moments with the audience, and the stadium lightning up like a sea of stars, where fans are singing along to Taylor’s most iconic songs.
Taylor’s 16 outfits include bejeweled custom suits from Versace, Roberto Cavalli, and Oscar de la Renta. The bedazzled boots, which I couldn’t take my eyes off of, are custom boots from Christian Louboutin.
Besides this, most people were eager to know the exact makeup she was wearing.
Some of the Eras Tour shows have been done in the pouring rain. The outfits and Taylor’s hair got drenched by the heavy downpour in her Nashville shows, yet her makeup remained intact. The mystery behind Taylor’s makeup caused a commotion on social media. Some people that were at the rainy shows commented that her makeup didn’t budge one bit. So, what’s the secret? What type of setting spray did she use? Keep on reading!
Nashville-based makeup artist Lorrie Turk has been Taylor’s makeup artist since the beginning of Taylor’s career in the mid-2000s. Lorrie is notorious for not sharing any details on Instagram of the makeup she uses on Taylor. Over the years, she has shared a few brands here and there, like Nars, but that’s pretty much it.
Taylor Swift was recently named the second richest woman in the history of music by Forbes Magazine (the first one is Rihanna). Could you imagine if Lorrie was constantly sharing the products she used on her? The demand for those products would be beyond overwhelming for the brands.
In 2022, Taylor Swift enlisted the help of A-list celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath for her ‘Bewejeled’ music video. If you’re not familiar with Pat McGrath, she’s an icon in the makeup industry. Pat is known for her glittery multichrome eyeshadows that will make people stop dead in their tracks.
Someone reported to the celebrity gossip IG account Deuxmoi the complete makeup list Lorrie “allegedly” used on Taylor for the Eras tour. It should be no surprise that Taylor used Pat Mcgrath. When Miley Cyrus did her British Vogue cover a few months ago, Pat was also her makeup artist. Miley said that at the end of the shoot, Pat gave her a lifetime supply of her eponymous makeup, so it makes sense that Pat also gifted Taylor her products to use on the tour.
Allure magazine reached out to Lorrie and Pat to verify this information, but neither of them confirmed nor denied it. When I was doing my research on Taylor and Pat McGrath, I found that in November 2022, Pat released the “Taylor-made” kit, which features all the products Pat used on the ‘Bejeweled’ music video. This solidifies the theory that Taylor is wearing a full face of Pat McGrath on the Eras tour. I never paid much attention to Taylor’s makeup before, but Pat’s lipsticks and bold eyeshadows are very noticeable.
First, let me say that every time Taylor goes off stage for breaks, she’s getting her makeup touched up to ensure that everything is staying in place. In the film industry, actors are on sets for 12-hour shoots, and makeup artists are there at all times to retouch the actors’ makeup. I forgot to save her Instagram story, but as expected, Lorrie is currently on tour with Taylor.
This is the full list that Lorrie is allegedly using on Taylor for the Eras Tour.
Many people are eager to know what setting spray she used. There are speculations that she either used Ben Nye setting spray or Urban Decay. My theory is, since she’s getting her makeup touched up at all the breaks, it’s unlikely Lorrie used a setting spray on her that would last hours on end. She probably used the Pat McGrath setting powder, and had a blotting puff handy to retouch Taylor’s makeup.
For the lipstick, it looks like Taylor and Lorrie always stick to the same liquid lipstick from Pat McGrath. The Labs LiquiLUST: Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick in Elson 4, which you can see in the pictures above on the MTV VMAs and ‘Bejeweled’.
According to the anonymous person that tipped DeuxMoi, in most of her shows, she’s wearing the Mothership VII: Divine Rose palette.
UPDATE: I just watched ‘The Eras Tour’ concert film, which was filmed in Los Angeles. With so many high-quality, close-up shots of her face, I’m 99.9% sure that she wore the shade Iridescent Pink 003 (upper right), topped with another sparkly shade from the Divine Rose palette.
It looks like on some of the shows, Lorrie switched up the palette. In these photos, it looks like she’s wearing the Mothership X: Moonlit Seduction palette, which is the same palette she wore on the ‘Bejeweled’ music video, as well as on the MTV VMA’s. The shimmer in her eyes is definitely a metallic shade.
At the Pittsburg concert, Taylor told the audience to excuse her for a second to blow her nose due to some allergies she was having. You can see how her foundation rubbed off on the bridge of her nose.
Taylor after the three-hour Eras show in New Jersey with actor Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh. As you can see, her makeup looks flawless. The wonders of having a makeup artist in tow!
Although Pat’s eyeshadow palettes are beautiful and luxurious, they come with a hefty price tag. If you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on her $125 eyeshadow palettes, you can get shimmer eyeshadows from indie makeup brands such as Terra Moon Cosmetics and Clionadh Cosmetics for a fraction of the cost.
After five years of no paparazzi sightings, Taylor Swift is being photographed again, gracing the streets of New York City with her impeccable style. Here she is walking into Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan.
I’m fully convinced that in those pictures she’s wearing the Rare Beauty’s Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in the shade Brave. As far as the highlighter… it could be either Pat McGrath’s Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo or the Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter.
For the cover of her newest re-recording, ‘1989’, it looks like she’s wearing the same lipstick from Rare Beauty on the album cover.
Below you can see Selena wearing it as well. It’s definitely the same shade!
The color and the finish are identical to Taylor’s ‘Cruel Summer’ cover photo. This is the shade Inspire
For those who don’t know, Taylor and Selena have been best friends for over a decade. I’m sure Taylor gets nice PR packages from Rare Beauty all the time!
Remember, this is all speculation!
