There are no words to describe the unimaginable losses LA has experienced in the last few days. Homes, businesses and historic landmarks have been burned to a crisp. My heart goes out to everyone affected: homeowners, business owners, animals, and of course, all the firefighters who are putting their lives on the line braving these raging fires. We are deeply grateful to you.
Los Angeles is a city that has always been associated with new beginnings and opportunities. When I think of Angelenos, I think of big dreamers and creative minds, people with perseverance and confidence to materialize anything. I have unwavering faith that this perseverance will help the affected areas rise from the ashes and start anew. We’re here to help!
Given the onslaught of information on social media, I decided to compile a list of resources and other ways to help in one post. I’ll resume my regular posts in February.
Note: This list will continue to be updated
Evacuation shelters

- Westwood Recreation Center: 1350 S. Sepulveda, Los Angeles – This evacuation shelter is run by American Red Cross. Due to the Sunset Fire, this is where I spent the night on Wednesday. They provided food, water and toiletries. The workers were incredible, always checking in on everyone to see if we needed anything.
- Pasadena Civic Auditorium: 300 E. Green St, Pasadena
- El Camino Real Charter High School: 5440 Valley Circle Blvd., Woodland Hills
- Ritchie Valens Recreation Center: 10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Pacoima
- Sepulveda Recreation Center: Address: 8825 Kester Avenue, Panorama City
